I wish I could go back to a time
When our love was real and genuine, and nothing was fake.
Where I could safely take your hand in my own;
  my heart as well.
I guess the yearning to be close all those years,
  ended up in heartbreak.
(Yet again)

I wish I could go back to a time
When Trust was reflected in our eyes and words.
Where we were standing in a crowded hallway
  but believed we were alone.
I suppose I'm standing by myself now.
(Alone again.)

I wish I could go back to a time
When a soft word washed away our pain.
Where you were the Warrior slaying the Demons
  to rescue the Princess.
I believe I woke up from my fantasy.
(Why now?)

Where I was your Lady, you were my Lord.
Where we stood side by side
  and endured.
I think the Queen is gone.
(Has she lost her head?)

Where we were both winners in our eyes.
When our faults never mattered, were just comedy.
I have lost this cruel game.
(Lost innocence)

Where true love never has to end.
When we were on the dance floor
  with all eyes staring; ignore them.
